Venetian Blinds

Office Cleaning Sydney CBD

Blinds remain popular for windows because they are practical, and because the wide variety of blinds means there is usually a stylish option available.

Blinds are easy to adjust, providing the right amount of light or the right amount or privacy with a simple adjustment.

About the only downside to blinds is that they are a little tricky to clean. The large surface area of venetian blinds holds a lot of dust, as do the small joints. But the right approach can clean blinds in minimal time.

  • Get any curtains or drapes out of the way, remove then or tie them back.
  • Inspect the blinds. Spot clean any obvious stains with window cleaner and a soft cloth (microfibre is good).
  • Some blinds can be vacuumed with a soft attachment. But be careful not to get anything tangled.
  • Close the blinds and wipe them with a damp cloth (microfibre).
  • Some people find that a soft cotton glove or an old sock is good for cleaning blinds. Lightly grip each slat of the blind with the glove/sock and simultaneously wipe along the top and bottom surface.
  • You can a light detergent mixture when cleaning metal or plastic blinds. But avoid this on timber slatted blinds.
  • Let the blinds dry naturally where they are.

Some blinds are easy to remove, so they can be taken outside and hosed down.
